La Center — Northwest Pacific Highway will be a one-way street for a few weeks, with construction expected to start Monday on replacing the existing 8-inch sewer pipe under the roadway with an 18-inch-diameter sewer.

The construction will be on Pacific Highway and start at West Third Street, working its way north to West Fifth Street. It’s expected to last three weeks.

The construction will replace the 1965 sewer pipe, add capacity for growth and facilitate construction for upgrading capacity at the intersection by constructing a roundabout at West Fourth Street and Pacific Highway in 2017.

Construction will require one-way traffic on Pacific during the day, and the road will reopen in both directions at night.
