Vancouver – Vancouver’s Parks and Recreation Department is celebrating the completion of projects at Cascade Park with a public ribbon-cutting from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday. The park is at 13003 S.E. Seventh St., next to Crestline Elementary School.
The city hired Proex of Battle Ground to complete a $461,900 improvement project at the park. New playground equipment, an outdoor classroom and nature play area are some of the new features added to the 3.5-acre park.
Park impact fees and general fund dollars paid for the project, along with $88,000 from Evergreen Public Schools.
“This park illustrates the city’s interest in continuing to invest in our parks system and our ability to find ways to fund these projects,” said Chris Roper, Vancouver Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission chair. “The Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission hopes Cascade area residents are as happy with the improvements as we are.”
