OGDEN, Utah — Ogden, Utah, will no longer host events for the Sundance Film Festival.
The Standard-Examiner reports that the Sundance Institute has announced that there will no longer be January Sundance Film Festival events at Peery’s Egyptian Theater.
Sundance Managing Director Sarah Pearce says they will be transitioning the Ogden extension of the Park City-based festival to a more community-based program. There will now be local screenings in Ogden during the summer and fall.
Pearce says she understands there will be disappointment due to the change but that she hopes Ogden residents will attend or volunteer at festival events in Park City and Salt Lake City.
The Sundance Film Festival was founded by actor Robert Redford.
