A pedestrian reportedly jogging on Interstate 5 was struck and killed late Wednesday night in Vancouver, according to Washington State Patrol.
The male pedestrian, whose age and identity have not been released, was jogging in the right lane of I-5 northbound when he was struck from behind by a silver 2014 Jeep Wrangler, troopers said. The crash happened just south of Mill Plain Boulevard just before 11:30 p.m., according to state patrol.
The pedestrian died at the scene. The driver of the Jeep, 49-year-old Marion Thomas of Vancouver, was not injured.
Washington State Patrol says that charges in the case are pending investigation.
The pedestrian’s identity is not being released pending notification by the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office.
