The League of Women Voters of Clark County is hosting several candidate forums before the August primary election.

The evening forums will be held in Vancouver, Battle Ground and Cascade Park libraries.

The first forum will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, at the Vancouver Community Library, 901 C St. The league has invited candidates for the 49th Legislative District, which covers west Vancouver, and candidates for Clark Public Utilities commissioner.

The second forum will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 14, at the Battle Ground Community Library, 1207 S.E. Eighth Way. Candidates were invited from the 18th Legislative District, which runs from Felida to Battle Ground and Camas, and Clark County Council District No. 4, which includes the northern part of Clark County.

The third forum will be from 6 to 9 p.m. July 19 at the Cascade Park Library, 600 N.E. 136th Ave. At that forum, candidates were invited from the 17th Legislative District and Clark County Councilor District No. 3, both of which include the east Vancouver area.

The primary election concludes on Aug. 2, but ballots will be available as soon as July 15, according to the Clark County Elections Office.
