A tractor-trailer crash Friday afternoon spilled about 3,000 to 4,000 gallons of pomegranate juice on Highway 14 just east of Stevenson.
Washington State Patrol Trooper Will Finn said the call first came in, shortly after 3 p.m., as garbage falling from a truck. Troopers soon discovered a load of juice, 10 containers’ worth, had spilled from the trailer and all over the roadway, he said.
No one was hurt and traffic was still getting through around 3:30 p.m., he said.
Finn said he didn’t yet know the circumstances of the crash, such as whether the truck rolled or if the load fell from the trailer. Photos from the scene revealed a large, juice-stained gash on the right side of the trailer, along with damage to the truck’s right side.
The state Department of Ecology responded, he said, as did local firefighters, who were called in to wash away the sticky mess.
