The Battle Ground Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who damaged a veterans memorial last month.

About 11:45 p.m. June 27, someone driving a white extra cab pickup drove over the Veterans Memorial in Kiwanis Park, damaging the memorial, police said.

The damage is described as burn-out marks on the stones in front of the wall, police said. The agency called the act disrespectful.

If anyone observed activity in that area or has information regarding the vehicle or driver, they are asked to contact Sgt. Jason Perdue at 360-342-5241 or Jason.perdue@cityofbg.org. Tips can be left anonymously at www.cityofbg.rg/tips.
