Gifford Pinchot National Forest snow report 1/28

Mount St. Helens — Snow depths have melted to 12 inches at Cougar Sno-Park and 24 inches at Marble Mountain Sno-Park. The pavement is bare on road No. 83.

June Lake, elevation 3,440 feet, still has 64 inches, down 12 inches for the week.

Wind River — About 4 feet of snow at Oldman Pass, Koshko, McClellan Meadows and Lone Butte. The ski trails are groomed on an irregular basis.

Surprise Lakes, elevation 4,290 feet, have 91 inches, down 11 inches for the week.

Mount Adams — About 2 feet of snow at Pineside Sno-Park, 3 feet at Atkisson and SnowKing sno-parks and 4 feet at Flattop sno-park.

The ski trails at Pineside and SnowKing were groomed last on Saturday. Smith Butte Sno-Park is not accessible.

Road No. 88 is closed about seven miles north of Big Tire Junction due to a washout.
