Teague Schroeder scored 18 points, all with 3-point shots, as Camas pulled away from Evergreen.
Schroeder made six of her team’s seven 3-pointers in the 4A Gr. The Papermakers also held Evergreen to 17-percent from the field.
Evergreen coach Jay Foreman praised his team’s defense, which held Camas scoreless in the third quarter until a 3-pointer with 18 seconds left.
“To hold a team like that to 31 points after three quarters, I’m very proud,” he said. “But we missed some really easy shots.”
Trailing 6-3, Camas went on an 8-0 run over the final two minutes of the first quarter. But the Papermakers (12-2, 6-1) couldn’t pull away until the fourth quarter, in which they outscored Evergreen 15-4.
