A fire burned a single-wide mobile home across the street from York Elementary School in Orchards on Monday afternoon.

Firefighters received a report from the school of a mobile home fully engulfed in flames shortly before 3:30 p.m.

Vancouver Fire Department spokesman Joe Spatz said the mobile home had been unoccupied for several years and was being used for storage.

Firefighters worked from the outside for safety concerns, Spatz said, and the fire was under control about 30 minutes later.

He said a fire investigator will be on scene to determine how the fire started and assess the damage.

No injuries were reported.

County property records list the building’s address as 9312 N.E. 152nd Ave., and show Charles and Joyce Miller, who have a different address, as its owners.
