Boys basketball: Battle Ground 67, Mountain View 44

The host Tigers started fast and rolled to the Class 4A Greater St. Helens League win.

All five Battle Ground starters scored in a 27-point first quarter that produced an early 19-point lead. Daelon Floyd scored 13 of his 23 points in the opening eight minutes and Kylle Cahoon scored seven of his 12 points in the first quarter.

“Our offensive intensity from the ourset was pretty good,” Battle Ground coach Wes Armstrong said.

Landon Hall added 14 points and four steals for the Tigers (6-7, 2-3). Floyd was 10 of 13 from the field and grabbed 11 rebounds. Cahoon had five assists.

For Mountain View (6-6, 2-3), Jordan Bolds scored 16 points and Alex Bailey had 10 points.
