A strong second half carried the Trappers to the non-league win over the visitors from Chehalis.

W.F. West used a 15-3 second quarter to lead by 13 at halftime. But Fort Vancouver (4-8) pulled even by the end of the third quarter and pulled away in the fourth.

Trappers coach James Ensley said his team did a better job defnsively and rebounding to change the momentum. His team also executed much better on offense in the second half, Ensley said.

“We had more ball movement and we got the ball in low,” Ensley said, adding that the result was “good, in-rhythm shots.”

Fort limited the Bobcats two posts to eight points in the second half after the visitors scored 22 points inside in the first half.

Ronald Owens scored 18 points for Fort Vancouver, Kyron Lowe-Ash and James Jusband Jr. talled 12 apiece and Norman Brown added 11. Lowe-Ash added nine rebounds and five assists from the point-guard position, and Husband had five assists and four rebounds.
