Boys basketball: Mark Morris 58, Ridgefield 49

Will Burghardt scored 10 of his game-high 22 points in the fourth quarter to help the Monarchs beat the Spudders in a 2A Greater St. Helens League game.

The free-throw line proved to be the difference in the contest as Mark Morris made 18 of 24 foul shots compared with Ridgefield’s 9 for 21 from the line.

Mark Morris (8-3, 2-1) led by three at halftime and extended its led to eight after three quarters,

Three players scored in double figures for Ridgefield (5-6, 2-2), with Travis Gottsch and Auston DeHaan tallying 13 points apiece and Louden Wardius 12.
