Heart association seeks heart-healthy woman for makeover

The American Heart Association is looking for nominees for its Go Red For Women makeover.

The Go Red For Women movement and Macy’s will host a Go Red Total Makeover event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 6 at Macy’s Washington Square, 9300 S.W. Washington Square Road, Portland.

The event will spotlight one local woman who has taken steps to improve her heart health. The winner will receive a $500 Macy’s gift card and share her story of achieving a healthier lifestyle.

The free event will also feature heart-healthy stations throughout the store, offering access to medical experts, tips on physical exercise and nutrition and more.

Attendees who wear red will also receive a 10 percent discount at Macy’s.

The American Heart Association – Oregon and Southwest Washington Division is accepting nominees for the Go Red Total Makeover through Jan. 24. Nominations can be submitted online, www.heart.org/pdxgoesred. Self-nominations are also accepted.
