Battle Ground used solid defense to post its first 4A Greater St. Helens League win.
The Tigers forced 28 turnovers from Heritage, compared to 12 by Battle Ground. The Timberwolves only made five field goals.
“We played as a team tonight,” Battle Ground coach Lisa May said. “Our defense was good.”
Kylie Smith paced the Tigers with 14 points and Grace Russell added 10. No Heritage player had more than five as the Timberwolves’ leading scorer, Amy Gould, was out with an illness.
