Police were searching the area around an Umpqua Bank branch in Hazel Dell following a robbery there shortly before 12:30 p.m. Friday.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office said a man entered the bank — at 600 N.E. 99th St. — demanded money from a teller then left on foot toward the north. No weapon was seen or implied, and no vehicle was seen, according to the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office described the robber as a white man in his early to mid-30s, about 6 feet tall with a stocky build and with a dark, short beard. The man wore a gray sweatshirt, blue jeans, dark glasses and a black stocking cap.
Deputies searched the area with the help of a police dog but were unsuccessful.
The sheriff’s office asked anyone with information on the case to contact Det. Chris Nicholls at 360-397-2192 or chris.nicholls@clark.wa.gov.
