The Vancouver Police Command Unit and the city have reached a labor agreement for 2015-16.

Monday, the Vancouver City Council approved the collective bargaining agreement, which includes a 3 percent wage increase each year. There were no significant benefits changes.

The old contract expired Dec. 31, 2014. The annual salary range for police commanders in 2014 was $103,000 to $126,000. Lieutenants earned $94,200 to $114,500.

According to the city, the parties worked through a collaborative process on many of the agreement’s provisions but delayed settling the economic factors until after the Vancouver Police Officer’s Guild arbitration award was issued late last year. Then, following additional negotiations, an agreement between the city and Command Unit was reached.
