A missing 80-year-old woman with dementia was found in good health Tuesday morning, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

Dolores A. Fake was reported missing Monday after she didn’t show up for an appointment at a salon in the 6300 block of Highway 99 in Hazel Dell, police said. She was last seen at her residence in the 2500 block of Northeast 149th Avenue in east Vancouver.

She was located at about 7 a.m. Tuesday when two people walking at Ridgefield High School spotted a dark green Toyota Camry in the lower soccer field of the high school, Clark County Fire & Rescue spokesman Tim Dawdy said.

Her car had somehow come to a stop in soft mud, which Dawdy said he suspected happened sometime Monday night.

Dawdy said she was confused, cold and very much in danger.

“Police officers and the dispatchers and the firefighters took this very seriously,” Dawdy said. “She was definitely in distress, and they treated her right away.”

Fake was taken to an area hospital for evaluation, police said.

Dawdy added that she could have just as easily ended up in an area that put Fake more at risk.

“We’re just glad it had a positive outcome,” he said.
