PORTLAND — The Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Forest Service announced a second 30-day public comment period for the environmental assessment of two permit applications for hardrock prospecting near Mount St. Helens. The comment period began Thursday.
Ascot USA Inc. plans to search for copper, silver, gold and other minerals by drilling 63 holes at 23 different sites at Goat Mountain in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
