EVERETT — An Arlington-area man has filed a lawsuit against Everett after he was denied access to dog records at a public animal shelter.
The Daily Herald reports that Jonathan Bander filed a lawsuit last month after he was denied access to records while looking for his missing Pomeranian mix, Hyde.
Bander went to the Everett Animal Shelter after Hyde went missing in January. The shelter has a binder of stray animals for people seeking missing pets to peruse. A shelter employee told Bander he could not see a dog he thought might be Hyde. When he returned to the shelter days later, that dog’s kennel card had been removed. He filed a records request which was denied.
A city spokeswoman says Bander’s records request was mistakenly denied and that they plan to communicate with Bander to resolve the issue.
