People with old uniforms up in the attic or military memorabilia in a dusty footlocker will have a chance Saturday to learn where and when the veterans in their families served.

Clark County Historical Society and the Vancouver Barracks Military Association are holding Ask a Military Historian Day at the Clark County Historical Museum, 1511 Main St., Vancouver.

It will begin at 11 a.m. when Jeff Davis, president of the association, discusses online resources for finding a relative’s military records. There also will be information on learning the histories of military units, including those that have been based at Vancouver Barracks over the decades.

After the presentation, the military history volunteers will try to work individually with visitors. Historians will discuss what military artifacts and keepsakes can reveal about a family member’s time in the service. While not all questions will be answered, visitors can learn how to find out more.

Admission: $4 for adults; $3 for seniors; $2 for children under 18; free for historical society members.
