Hannah Neibauer had an outstanding all-around game to lead the Hawks one win from a state tournament berth.
Neibauer had 24 points, 12 steals, six assists and five rebounds, and she was 8 for 8 from the free throw line for the Hawks.
The Hawks’ ability to get to the line — and make their free throws — was the difference. Hockinson was 12 of 16 from the line, compared 1 for 2 for Centralia.
“We were able to attack the basket and make our free throws,” Hockinson coach Eirik Huset said.
Elle Tilkin and Keely Nordberg added 11 points each. Brittany McGuire added seven rebounds.
Hockinson plays Washougal on Saturday at a site and time to be determined for the district’s No. 3 seed to the regional round of the state tournament.
