Skyview High School was making counselors available to students and staff Tuesday following the death of a student, school Principal James Gray said in a note to parents.

The boy, a junior, died unexpectedly Monday night, Gray said, adding the boy’s family asked the school to not share specific information about his death.

Gray said students received word of the boy’s death from their teachers Tuesday.

“Counselors and support staff from across the district, including our own counselors, will be at school to talk with students and staff,” he said. “Support will remain in place as long as necessary.”
