Police are investigating after a Vancouver resident was killed in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash Sunday night in Camas.

Police and fire officials responded to the crash, reported at about 9:40 p.m. in the 4700 block of Northwest Lake Road, according to the Camas Police Department.

The initial investigation showed that the motorcycle was traveling west on Northwest Lake Road when, for an unknown reason, it veered off the left side of the road and struck a cement curb, police said.

The rider, a 65-year-old Vancouver resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the deceased was not released pending family notification.

Police said there were no additional passengers or cars involved in the crash. The motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet, they said.

Traffic detectives with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office are assisting the Camas Police Department with the investigation.
