Anti-DUI enforcement planned for Super Bowl

More Vancouver and Battle Ground police officers will be on the lookout for intoxicated drivers Sunday in a push to keep Super Bowl celebrations safe.

A grant from the Washington Traffic Safety Commission funds the overtime for the increased enforcement as well as high-visibility marketing and other communications costs.

The effort is in support of Target Zero, which aims to eliminate traffic fatalities and serious injuries by 2030.

Vancouver Police Department asks Super Bowl partygoers to have a sober designated driver, call a cab or have a sober friend pick you up if you become intoxicated. They also ask those hosting parties to make sure that impaired guests don’t drive and to serve plenty of food and nonalcoholic beverages.

If you see a suspected impaired driver, police ask that you call 911.
