Boys basketball: Columbia River 56, Kelso 41

The host Chieftains wrapped up a share of the Class 3A Greater St. Helens League title by beating the Hilanders.

Columbia River and Prairie will share the league title and will play a tie-breaker for playoff seeding at 6 p.m. on Saturday at Fort Vancouver. This is the fifth year in a row that Columbia River has won or shared the 3A GHSL crown.

Spencer Long scored 22 points, and Andrew Vickers had 12 points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots for the Chieftains (14-5, 5-1). Nathan Hockhalter, filling in for Spencer Black who rested a sore ankle, grabbed 12 rebounds.

Columbia River coach David Long said his team shot the ball well and played with a lot of energy.

Riley Noah scored 12 points to lead Kelso (8-12, 2-4).
