Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Connections provides opportunities through the Human Services Council.

• Clark County Public Works — Parks Division seeks participants for its Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service event, 9 a.m. to noon on Jan. 16. Volunteers will remove plant protectors from mature plants and shrubs and cut down blackberry canes to prepare a site for mitigation planning.

• Interfaith Treasure House is looking for volunteers to sort donations at the thrift store.

• Juvenile Rehabilitation Administration is seeking volunteers to mentor incarcerated youth. Mentors call, visit and write letters to the youth as often as possible.

• Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center seeks volunteer help in many areas. Volunteers may work directly with patients, provide hospitality to visitors, assist with clerical duties, serve beverages, help with fundraising, or host patrons of the Green Gables Guest House.

• Project Homeless Connect seeks help at its resource fair on Jan. 26 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vancouver.

• Clark County Public Service Center seeks information desk volunteers for morning or afternoon shifts, Monday through Friday.
