The Prairie boys basketball team left the Moda Center with plenty of memories Wednesday.

The Falcons also left with a win.

Prairie beat Mountain View of Idaho 54-51 in a game held at the home of the Portland Trail Blazers.

“We talked about how this might be our only chance to play here so let’s play well,” Prairie coach Kyle Brooks said.

Prairie (4-1) took the floor about 30 minutes before the 1:30 p.m. tipoff. Players took pictures at the half-court logo during warmups.

Dante Heitschmidt scored all seven of his points in the second quarter, sparking Prairie to a 31-23 halftime lead.

In the fourth quarter, Dwayne Stewart and Greg Bernash each hit a pair of free throws in the final minute as Prairie held onto the lead.

Seth Hall led the Falcons with 12 points while Stewart added 10.

Brooks said many of his players stayed for that evening’s Blazers game against Dallas.

“It was just a fun athmosphere,” Brooks said. “This being a special time of year, we had a lot of parents and fans who game out. Mountain View brought a lot of fans from Boise.”
