Vancouver – The price of Vancouver city parking permits is scheduled to increase by $20 a month starting on Jan. 1.

Here is a list of the lots that will see an increase: Lot 1, or Smith Tower, on Washington and Fifth Street; Lot 2, the Evergreen lot, on Evergreen and Broadway; Lot 11, the Broadway lot, on Broadway and 11th Street; Lot 18, Vancouver Center, Columbia and 6th Street.

The cost of on-street parking will increase from $37 to $57 a month with the carpool rate increasing from $15 to $35 a month.

The city said the rate increases are necessary to ensure parking services are self-sufficient and to encourage private investment in parking facilities and make upgrades to current parking equipment.
