Teen center receives donation from Fred Meyer

Coin boxes at Fred Meyer collected more than $4,000 for Rocksolid

Brush Prairie — Coin boxes at Fred Meyer registers collected $4,203.06 in November for the Rocksolid Community Teen Center.

“We are thrilled to receive this donation. Our attendance numbers of teens we serve has doubled this year,” Marcy Sprecher, the nonprofit’s executive director, said in a news release. “This donation will help with much-needed items like our free daily healthy snack program.”

Each fiscal quarter, Fred Meyer donates the money from the coin boxes to organizations that represent specific causes. This quarter is youth development, next quarter is military support, the third quarter is health and the fourth quarter will be hunger relief.

Rocksolid is an after-school program for middle and high school students, and is located in the lower level of Bethel Lutheran Church, 12919 N.E. 159th St. Contact board member Lori Lindberg at 360-885-2181 or themrsl@aol.com for more information.
