Woodland — The Woodland Ceramic Club raised more than $2,775 for the Woodland Action Center food bank at its Empty Bowls fundraiser on Dec. 1.

At the event, more than 100 people selected a ceramic bowl made by members of the club and enjoyed soup donated from various local restaurants. Additional ceramic pieces made by local ceramic artists were auctioned off to raise additional funds, and the Woodland High School Music Program provided live entertainment.

The event was inspired by Empty Bowls, a national project created by Imagine Render, a nonprofit which looks to create lasting change through arts, education and projects that build community.
