Some schools call for early release ahead of snowfall

Snow is predicted to fall this afternoon, resulting in 1 to 3 inches of accumulation

Expectations of snow have prompted some school districts in the region to call for an early release today.

All schools in Woodland will dismiss two hours early today, the Woodland School District announced.

Ridgefield, Evergreen, La Center and Vancouver school districts have all canceled after school activities.

In Vancouver, King’s Way Christian Schools is also releasing early, closing at 12:30 p.m. All after school activities have been canceled.

Also Cornerstone Christian Academy’s early childhood education program is closing at 3 p.m. today and will have no after school care.

Meadow Glade Adventist Elementary in Battle Ground is on an early release schedule and has canceled all afternoon and evening activities. Dismissal is at 12:30 p.m. for bus students and 12:35 p.m. for all other students.

Columbia Adventist Academy will release early also, ending classes at 12:10 p.m. All afternoon and evening activities are canceled.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington said that all club sites will close at 5 p.m. today.

The National Weather Service predicts that snowfall will begin this afternoon, bringing with it between 1 to 3 inches of snow accumulation.
