La Center Elementary School’s inaugural Blanket Drive will last until 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. The drive had been scheduled to end Friday, but snow days pushed back the deadline for families to donate handmade blankets, including no-sew, quilts and afghans.
Blankets can be dropped off at the main office, 700 E. Fourth St.
The school’s Parent Teacher Organization will then donate the blankets to children in need.
The school teamed up for the drive with Project Linus, a national organization which looks to provide new, handmade blankets to children who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need.
