Battle Ground – Battle Ground High School alumni established a scholarship fund in honor of Bill Ganley, who died after a yearslong battle with cancer late last month.

Ganley was a longtime Battle Ground and Summit View High School teacher and a Battle Ground City Councilor.

In honor of his service, scholarships will be awarded to Battle Ground High School and Summit View High School seniors who wish to become educators or public servants, according to a news release.

The alumni are working to raise $50,000 to fund two $1,000 annual scholarships. Funds raised beyond that will support local fire and emergency services, as well as local community programs.

Tax-deductible donations can be made to:

Battle Ground Education Foundation

P.O. Box 2574, Battle Ground, WA 98604

Donations can also be made online at bgef.org/donate. Please note “Bill Ganley Scholarship” on donations.
