Annual Day of Service seeks volunteers

Clark County — Clark County Connects’ fifth annual Day of Service happening Sept. 10 seeks volunteers for projects around the county. The day kicks off at 8 a.m. at the Share Fromhold Service Center, located at 2306 N.E. Andresen Road. Participants are asked to bring non-perishable food items to donate to local food banks.

People can sign up for projects at www.clarkcountyconnects.org.

Projects still needing volunteers include:

• Sprucing up Marrion, Riverview and Endeavor elementary schools.

• Cleaning up areas around City Hall, the community center and Kiwanis Park in Battle Ground.

• Removing invasive species at The Heritage Farm.

• Resurfacing the trail at the DogPaw Dog Park in Brush Prairie.

• Cleaning up Frenchman’s Bar Park in Vancouver.

• Warehouse work at Share.

• Harvesting carrots at the Clark County Food Bank.

• Weeding and planting at the Pacific Park Demonstration Garden.

• Sorting clothes for Northwest Children’s Outreach.

• Pulling invasive ivy at Lucia Falls Park near Battle Ground and Blandford Canyon in Vancouver.
