A 16-year-old boy appeared Wednesday in Clark County Superior Court in connection with a robbery earlier this summer on North Garrison Road.

Colton J. Abbott, of Vancouver, faces an allegation of first-degree robbery stemming from the June 11 altercation. A co-defendant, 15-year-old Efson Antonious, is also facing a robbery charge in juvenile court.

During Abbott’s hearing, Judge Gregory Gonzales appointed him an attorney and set his bail at $150,000.

According to a probable cause affidavit, 29-year-old Christopher Remor, was riding his bicycle on North Garrison Road between Mill Plain Boulevard and Northeast 12th Street when two unknown males exited a vehicle and pulled him from his bicycle.

One of the men, later identified as Abbott, allegedly pointed a firearm at Remor, while Antonious kicked him in the head. They then stole his cellphone, backpack and jacket, the affidavit states.

Police contacted Abbott on Tuesday, and he told officers he had planned to find a person to rob for gas money. He said he was a passenger in a vehicle and saw Remor riding his bicycle. He asked the driver to drop him off so he could approach Remor on foot. Abbott then allegedly pointed a loaded semi-automatic handgun at him, according to court documents.

Abbott will be arraigned Sept. 14.
