Southwest Washington will suffer one more day of summer heat today before a string of much cooler days arrives Saturday.

The National Weather Service is warning of extreme fire danger today as temperatures reach well into the 90s. There will be some breeze and very little humidity.

The weather should greatly affect the running of the annual Hood-to-Coast race through northwest Oregon from Mount Hood to Seaside, Ore.

However, much cooler weather is forecast to begin Saturday, with highs in the 80s.
