RIDGEFIELD — BirdFest & Bluegrass 2016, the celebration of the return of the Sandhill Cranes to the refuge and the natural and cultural richness of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge, will be Sept. 30 until Oct. 2.
The event will feature entertainment at the refuge and within the city of Ridgefield throughout the weekend, including sandhill cane tours, guided nature and bird walks, children’s activities, kayak tours, Cathlapotle Plankhouse tours, naturalist workshops and the Birder’s Marketplace.
Officials estimated BirdFest attracts 3,000 to 5,000 people every year.
Friends of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge are putting out a call for vendors for the 17th annual event. The deadline for space reservation is Sept. 1.
