Wildlife refuge holds photography contest

RIDGEFIELD — Wildlife photographers young and old have the opportunity to win gift cards valued at up to $300 during the 2016 Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge Photo Contest.

Professional and amateur photographers alike are invited to submit photos.

Adult photographers who place first, second and third could with $300, $150, and $100 Pro Photo Supply gift cards, respectively. Nine honorable mention recipients will earn $25 gift cards.

Youth category first, second and third place winners will win Pro Photo Supply gift cards valued at $100, $75 and $50, respectively.

Photos must be taken within the refuge boundaries within areas that are open to the public during regular hours. Any scene of the refuge is acceptable, whether it includes animals, plants, landscapes or the Cathlapotle Plankhouse.

Both color and black and white images are acceptable. Pictures must be submitted in digital .JPG format by Tuesday, Sept. 6. Up to six images can be submitted, but each photo must be no bigger than five megabytes.
