Vancouver police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a woman suspected of slapping a child in a Goodwill earlier this month.

Officers responded to the reported assault at Goodwill, 1200 S.E. 162nd Ave., on Aug. 1. The parent of a 9-year-old told authorities that her child was hanging by her hands from a clothes rack when an unknown female slapped the child, according to Vancouver police.

The woman and the parent got into a confrontation before the suspect left the store, police said.

Surveillance cameras captured an image of the suspect. Anyone with information on the identity of the woman is asked to contact Vancouver Police Officer Nicholas Marbach at nicholas.marbach@cityofvancouver.us.
