Vancouver – YWCA Clark County is marking its centennial year with a gala on Sept. 10 and a trip down memory lane. Attendees can expect a cocktail hour starting at 5:30 p.m., a raffle, a three-course dinner and a special program at the Hilton Vancouver Washington, 301 W. Sixth St., Vancouver.
The evening concludes with dancing and dessert. All proceeds fund programs at the nonprofit, which is known for its work supporting victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
YWCA started as a lunch counter in downtown Vancouver in 1916 and continues to “empower women through mentorship, friendship, education and support,” according to a press release from the group. Over the past 100 years, the programs have evolved.
