Ridgefield — Skyview High School graduate and current University of Washington student Matt Gaylor spent 39 days this summer riding across the country on his bike. He and two friends, all members of the Theta Chi fraternity, went on the ride to raise money for the Kyle Charvat Foundation, which provides financial support to 18- to 25-year-old men and women with cancer. Gaylor, Nigel Hall and Josh Bean started in Anacortes and rode to Boston, Mass., raising more than $24,000 in donations for the foundation, which was started by the fraternity after Charvat was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2005. More info about the ride, all three riders and the foundation can be found at cycle4charvat.com.
