Clark County – Two local organizations are among seven that will be recognized for their philanthropic work by the Oregon and Southwest Washington chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals at a Nov. 7 luncheon in Portland.
Among the seven awards, two are for groups based in Clark County. The Humane Society for Southwest Washington will be honored for its outstanding volunteer group. More than 750 volunteer donate more than 100,000 hours each year caring for the animals who come through the shelter. Union High School’s National Honor Society will receive the Youth In Philanthropy Award for raising nearly $300,000 for the Holtzman Twins Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center and educating the community about premature birth.
