A Vancouver woman was hospitalized Monday afternoon after her minivan struck a Washington State Department of Transportation traffic-arrow pickup working with a sweeping project on state Highway 14.

The Washington State Patrol said Lacy A. McPoil, 19, was driving east around 2:15 p.m., about a mile from Vancouver, when she approached a mobile sweeping project.

Her minivan hit a DOT pickup, driven by Jacy Baldwin, 39, of Yacolt, totaling the van.

Baldwin was unhurt, the State Patrol said, but McPoil was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center for her injuries. She was listed as in satisfactory condition that evening.

The State Patrol said inattention caused the crash, and that McPoil was cited for speeding.
