District 18, Position 2 House race: Democratic legislative candidate Kathy Gillespie is hosting a series of town hall events in August. Gillespie would like to hear from citizens on a wide range of topics, including school funding, transportation issues, economic development and affordable housing.
The first event is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Ridgefield Community Center, 210 N. Main Ave., Ridgefield. Another town hall is scheduled for 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Battle Ground Community Library, 1207 S.E. Eighth Way, Battle Ground. The third event will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 30 at the Cascade Park Library, 600 N.E. 136th Ave., Vancouver. Gillespie plans another town hall at the Camas Public Library but hasn’t settled on a date or time yet.
