Vancouver – Vancouver will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for two new fire stations at 1 p.m. Monday at 2106 Norris Road. The public is invited to attend.

Vancouver is moving Fire Station 1, currently at 900 W. Evergreen Blvd., to 2607 Main St., and Fire Station 2, currently at 400 W. 37 St., to Norris Road. The move is in response to a study that determined the city would be best served by rebuilding and moving both stations, according to a news release.

Fire Chief Joe Molina and Mayor Pro Tem Anne McEnerny-Ogle will speak at next week’s ceremony.

Work will begin next week and the fire stations are expected to be operational in fall 2017. Both existing stations will stay open until the new ones are complete.
