Vancouver – The Vancouver Peace and Justice Fair returns to Esther Short Park on Sept. 10 for its 13th year, showcasing organizations and people trying to make the community a more peaceful place.

This year’s festivities include a Privilege Walk, where people can learn how their life was shaped by inborn advantages or disadvantages, as well as how Hall Mediation Services tries to close that gap.

There will be a labyrinth walk (a meditative experience for many people), a photo booth and live music, including the Vancouver USA Singers covering John Lennon’s “Imagine” and Paul McCartney’s “Let it Be.” Those who attend are encouraged to bring a personal “peace artifact” for display in a pop-up peace museum; “it could be the sign you marched with, the T-shirt or button you wore, or something much more unique and personal that means peace to you,” said a news release about the fair. The Clark County Historical Museum will help people write labels explaining the objects’ histories.

The Peace and Justice Fair is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 10 at the park, 415 W. Sixth St. For more information, visit www.vancouverpeaceandjusticefair.org.
