Law enforcement searching for a missing Camas woman today are doing so by boat, in helicopters and by patrolling the area.

Carla Temple, 62, was last seen in her Camas home at 10 p.m. Thursday night and was reported missing this morning, Camas Police Department Spokeswoman Debrah Riedl said.

She is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall, about 125 pounds with light skin, dark brown shoulder-length hair and brown eyes. Temple is not associated with any vehicles, police said, but takes daily walks along the Port of Camas-Washougal.

A police dog unit from Vancouver Police Department, boats from Clark County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia-Pacific and a helicopter from the US Coast Guard are all helping in the search, Reidl said. Patrol officers from Washougal and Clark County Sheriff’s Office also pitched in.

Reidl said that the large search effort is mostly due to the fact that so many resources happened to be available.

“Nothing is suspicious yet,” she said. “We are just actively looking.”

Anyone who sees Temple or has knowledge of her whereabouts is asked to contact their local law enforcement.
