Firefighters cut three people from their damaged vehicles after a Wednesday afternoon T-bone crash near Battle Ground Lake.

Clark County Fire District 3 responded to the crash, around 4:15 p.m., at the intersection of Northeast 182nd Avenue and 259th Street. The district’s Station 33 is at that intersection.

Firefighters found two heavily damaged vehicles, and occupants that needed to be freed using heavy extrication tools.

Clark County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Chad Rothenberger said Dakota Regas of Vancouver was driving a Subaru north and passing other cars as Jayme Hymas of Battle Ground turned left at the intersection in another vehicle.

Regas struck Hymas’ car, injuring both of them and a passenger in Regas’ car.

Three ambulances, running with lights and sirens, took the three patients with serious injuries to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, the fire district said. None of their injuries appeared life-threatening, Rothenberger said.

Regas was cited for reckless driving, but Rothenberger said additional charges are possible.

There was no indication that alcohol was a factor, he said.
