A Clark County sheriff’s deputy who allegedly assaulted his teenage daughter during a struggle over a cellphone was given credit Friday for time served.

Timothy E. Boardman, 45, of Vancouver pleaded guilty to domestic violence disorderly conduct in Clark County District Court stemming from the Nov. 25 altercation at his home. He initially faced fourth-degree domestic violence assault, but that charge was amended as part of a plea deal.

Boardman was given credit for two days he already had served in the Clark County Jail and was ordered to comply with a number of conditions, including chemical dependency and mental health evaluations, according to Deputy Prosecutor John Farra.

No one could confirm if Boardman is still employed with the sheriff’s office. Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Fred Neiman previously said that Boardman, a 17-year veteran of the office, was placed on paid administrative leave and that an internal investigation was underway.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed in District Court, Boardman grabbed the girl and told her to give him his cellphone. When the girl said she didn’t have it, he threw her down. She struck her arm on the footboard of a bed, resulting in some redness.

Boardman also was ordered not to have contact with his daughter, Farra said.
